A little Doctor Who love

So...... it's been awhile...

Imma just post this card and leave it at that... I am working on making this a regular thing in my life again... we'll call it a mid-years resolution :)

This card is for my dad's 61st birthday.  The inside says "we tried to get you a Tardis for your birthday... but couldn't find any - so instead we got you a star".  We had a star named after him.  So that my boys will one day be able to look up in to the sky and know my dad is up there looking back.

Excuse the poor pic but I decided that anything is better than nothing and I need to start somewhere :)

Hero Arts Background Love

Good morning everyone,

A quick card with a hero arts background stamp.I stamped with vintage photo and then coloured in the butterflies with the lightest shade of copics I own in pink and yellow. I then cut apart the hexagon paper and popped one up. I then stuck the last one in a Tim Holtz pin. All my edges are distressed with vintage photo and there we go.
Thanks for stoppin',

Flower Card

Heya everyone,

This is a flower card I made with my new set from Pink Paislee.  It belongs to the Nantucket line.

I first inked up the flower with Bamboo ink from CTMH. I then coloured the image in with copics.
Next I stamped the flower around the border of the paper and distressed it with Vintage Photo.
I then layered up another stamp from the set and stamped it using the second generation technique. I added the "beauty" for a sentiment.
Lastly, while I like the look of copics over a very light ink colour my copic skills just aren't up to par so I re-inked the flower image with Memento Tuxedo ink and stamped right over top. Easy peasy with a set of clear stamps. I really like how crisp the image is when the black is stamped last!

A doily, a pearl pin and some black music paper from the new Simon Says Stamp June card kit that came in the mail today and some brown Martha Stewart seam binding to finish it off.

What do you think?

I'm entering this in the YCU Challenge # 10

I wish it was sunny

Man,
If the sun could just stick it out for more than a day or two I would really appreciate it!

We've had mostly bad weather around here since November (I know this because that's when my son was born and the weather has hardly picked up since then). It was absolutely stunning all weekend and now Monday morning it is gloomy and awful outside.  So I whipped up a little card to commiserate the rain.

A little masking and some misting. I paper pieced the umbrellas so as to protect the little sentiment (that was fussy cut and popped up) from getting "wet" and I also popped up one of the umbrellas for a teensy bit-o-dimension. A strip of my favourite washi, a little faux stitching through the "rain" and I called it a day.

Here's wishing for sunnier days!
Happy crafting!

Lawn Fawn Challenge - "Love Mail"

Hey all,

Another submission for the Lawn Fawn challenge.

I made the base for my card with purple paper from the Bright Side Collection. I then cut out my postcard layering up the images from the stamp set "You've Got Mail".  I then fussy cut the mailbox and the little letters popping up the orange letter for some dimension. I then adhered the postcard down with purple washi that I received in a SSS card kit.  As usual I distressed my paper edge with vintage photo.
Thanks for looking :)

Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday!

Hero Arts Large Flower Background (again :)

Hello crafty peeps,

I am always looking to make background stamps appear different - and when I saw this on pinterest I knew I had to try it.

It took a couple of tries - the first time I did it I did it on Neenah cardstock and then just pulled the Chipped Sapphire distress ink with with a paintbrush and some water. That did not work. At all.

Second time I embossed the the chipped sapphire on watercolour paper and then watercoloured in just a small bit of the chipped sapphire.  I think it looks like old china.

I then distressed the edges with stormy sky.

A quick sentiment in white pigment in ink and done.

Thanks for peeking in on my little world,
K
